Vacation Mode: Activated! ✈️πΈπ
One of the things I love most about traveling is coming home with a camera full of memories and a heart full of stories.
I'm so excited because another vacation is just around the corner! While I'm looking forward to relaxing and spending time with family, I have to admit that one of the first things I think about is all the photos I'll get to take for future scrapbook layouts.
There's something special about capturing those little moments, the beautiful scenery, the unexpected adventures, the delicious meals, and the laughter shared with the people we love. Those snapshots become the memories we treasure long after the trip is over.
As scrapbookers, we know that photos aren't meant to stay hidden on our phones. They're meant to be printed, displayed, and preserved in a way that tells the story of our lives.
This upcoming trip has me dreaming about:
π· Taking lots of photos
π Making new memories with family
π΄ Exploring new places
✈️ Collecting inspiration for future scrapbook pages
π Creating albums that tell the story of our adventures
I already know I'll come home with more pictures than I probably need, but isn't that part of the fun?
Travel gives us so many opportunities to document life's beautiful moments. From the big highlights to the little details, every photo becomes a piece of the story we're creating.
So for now, I'm counting down the days, packing my bags, charging my camera, and getting ready to make more memories worth scrapbooking.
What about you? Do you scrapbook your vacations? I'd love to hear about your favorite travel memories and how you preserve them!
Happy crafting and happy travels! π

Roaring Into Adventure at Okinawa Dinosaur Park
Some birthdays call for cake and presents, while others call for dinosaurs! For my son's 8th birthday in 2024, our family spent the day exploring the beautiful Dinosaur Park in Okinawa, Japan. Nestled among lush tropical plants and winding pathways, this outdoor attraction felt like stepping back in time to a prehistoric world.
For this 12" x 12" double-page layout, I wanted to capture both the excitement of the dinosaurs and the incredible greenery that surrounded them. The vibrant dinosaur photos are matted in bright pink, helping them stand out against the rich botanical patterns and nature-inspired papers. I layered tropical-themed designer papers throughout the layout to complement the jungle atmosphere of the park and create a sense of adventure.
The simple photo arrangement allows the pictures to take center stage while still leaving room for decorative details. Small embellishments, layered banner pieces, and delicate die-cut accents add interest without overwhelming the page. The "Love This" title perfectly reflects how much fun we had celebrating this special birthday together.
One of my favorite things about scrapbooking family adventures is preserving the little moments that make a day memorable. Years from now, these photos will remind us of the laughter, the towering dinosaurs, and the excitement on my son's face as he explored the park.

How I Made Custom Stampin’ Up! Spritzers for Mixed Media Projects
If you love adding a little extra color and texture to your scrapbook layouts, cards, and mixed media projects, today’s post is for you! I recently spent some crafty time making my own custom color spritzers using Stampin’ Up! ink refills and alcohol, and I thought it would be fun to show you exactly how I put them together.
I’ve been wanting more ways to add soft splashes of color, layered backgrounds, and subtle mixed media details to my projects, and these refillable spritzers are such a simple way to do that. The best part? I can create sprays in the exact Stampin’ Up! colors I already love using in my scrapbooking.
The Colors I Mixed
For this batch, I created spritzers in:
- Pumpkin Pie
- Real Red
- Balmy Blue
- Pecan Pie
- Basic Gray
- Misty Moonlight
- Strawberry Slush
Seeing them all labeled and lined up together made my crafty heart so happy!
What I Used
To make these custom spritzers, I used:
- Empty refillable spritzer bottles
- Stampin’ Up! ink refills in my chosen colors
- Alcohol
- Printed labels so I could keep each color clearly marked
- A paper towel underneath my workspace to catch any spills or drips
How I Filled My Spritzers
I wanted these to be simple and ready to grab whenever I’m working on a layout or mixed media background, so I kept the process easy.
Step 1: Label the Spritzers
Before filling anything, I added labels to each empty spritzer so I would know exactly which color was going into each one. This makes it so much easier later when I’m crafting and reaching for a specific shade.
Step 2: Add the Alcohol
Next, I filled each spritzer with alcohol. I didn’t fill them all the way to the very top because I wanted to leave a little room for the ink refill and for shaking the bottle to mix everything together.
Step 3: Add the Ink Refill
Once the alcohol was in, I added a small amount of the coordinating Stampin’ Up! ink refill into each spritzer. This is the fun part because you can adjust how intense or soft you want the color to be. If you want a lighter mist, use less ink. If you want a bolder spray, add a bit more.
Step 4: Shake to Mix
After adding the refill ink, I closed up each spritzer and gave it a good shake so the alcohol and ink blended together. That’s when the color really came to life!
Step 5: Test the Color
Before putting them away, I tested the spritzers so I could see how each color sprayed. This is a great way to make sure the color intensity is just how you want it before using it on a scrapbook layout, card background, or embellishment cluster.
How I Plan to Use Them
One of the reasons I wanted to make these was to add more variety and texture to my paper crafting. These custom spritzers will be perfect for:
- creating mixed media backgrounds on scrapbook layouts
- adding a soft mist of color behind photos or title work
- spritzing die cuts or embellishment clusters for extra interest
- creating custom backgrounds for handmade cards
- adding a coordinating splash of color to white cardstock, tags, or journaling spots
I especially love that these colors will coordinate beautifully with other Stampin’ Up! products I already have in my craft room.
Why I Love This Idea
This was such a simple project, but it’s one of those little crafty prep tasks that makes creating even more fun later. Instead of stopping in the middle of a project to figure out how to add color, I’ll already have a rainbow of custom sprays ready to go.
I also love that this lets me stretch my supplies a little further and use my ink refills in a new way. If you enjoy mixed media, inky backgrounds, or just experimenting with your scrapbook supplies, this is a fun technique to try.
Have you ever made your own custom spritzers or color mists for scrapbooking?
I’d love to hear what colors you would make first!

A Lovely Day With Paper Pumpkin June 2026 Kit Card Inspiration
There’s just something so satisfying about opening a Paper Pumpkin kit and seeing a project come together so beautifully, and this card from the June 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit was exactly that for me!
Today I’m sharing one of the three card designs included in the kit, and I have to say… I absolutely loved how this one turned out. While I kept the overall design very close to the original concept, I did make a few minor changes to make it feel a little more “me.” Those little personal touches are one of my favorite things about kit crafting, you get the ease of a pre-designed project, but you can still add your own creative spin.
This card has such a charming and cheerful feel. The soft green background paired with the sweet pink accents creates such a fresh, pretty look, and that bike filled with flowers completely stole my heart. It feels whimsical, light, and perfect for sending a little sunshine to someone’s mailbox.
I especially love how the layered pieces give the card dimension without making it feel overly complicated. The floral basket, the bicycle details, the simple tag, and the sentiment all come together in such a lovely way. It’s the kind of card that looks special but still feels very approachable to create.
One of the things I appreciate most about Paper Pumpkin is that it makes crafting feel easy and fun, especially on days when I want to create but don’t necessarily want to pull out a ton of supplies or start from scratch. Everything coordinates beautifully, and the projects are perfect for both newer crafters and seasoned paper crafters alike.
This card is a great example of that. It’s elegant, playful, and polished all at once. And even with just a few tiny changes, it still keeps the original charm of the kit design.
If you’ve ever looked at a card kit and wondered if you should follow the instructions exactly or change things up a bit, let this be your reminder that both are great options. Sometimes the original design is so good that only a few tweaks are needed. A small adjustment here and there can make the project feel personalized while still keeping the ease and beauty of the kit intact.
This card was such a joy to make, and I’m excited to share the other designs from the June 2026 kit soon as well.
Overall, I’m so happy with how this card turned out. It’s sweet, fresh, and full of charm. and it was such a fun project to create. If you’re a fan of card kits, florals, or pretty layered details, this design is definitely one to love.
Have you ever made a Paper Pumpkin card exactly as designed, or do you like to add your own twist? I’d love to hear how you make your kits your own!

Celebrate Take Your Dog to Work Day – June 19!
New Card Creations With Artisan Sketched Designer Series Paper
There is something timeless about pairing bold black-and-white patterns with soft, fresh color accents, and these two cards showcase that combination beautifully! Today I'm sharing a pair of handmade cards created with some of my favorite new Stampin' Up! products, including the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper, Pool Party Two-Tone Cardstock, Coastal Cabana Two-Tone Cardstock, and the gorgeous Boutique Blossoms dies.
The striking black-and-white floral patterns from the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper create the perfect backdrop for these clean and elegant designs. I love how the floral prints, stripes, and polka dots add visual interest while still allowing the soft Coastal Cabana and Pool Party accents to shine.
For both cards, I layered delicate leafy die cuts from the Boutique Blossoms set behind circular sentiment pieces. The soft blue-green tones add a fresh botanical feel that perfectly complements the monochromatic patterned paper. A few sparkling embellishments finish each card with just the right amount of shimmer.
The sentiments come from two wonderful stamp sets:
- Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set – "Just a Little Thank You"
- Natural Artistry Stamp Set – "Wishing You Everything Wonderful"
One of my favorite things about these cards is how easily the design can be adapted for different occasions. Simply swap out the sentiment and you'll have a thank-you card, birthday card, thinking-of-you card, or encouragement card in just minutes.
These cards are a great reminder that you don't need a lot of colors or complicated techniques to create something beautiful. Sometimes a simple color palette, gorgeous designer paper, and a few die-cut elements are all you need to make a card that feels elegant and heartfelt.
Have you tried combining black-and-white patterned paper with bright color accents? I'd love to hear what color combinations you would choose!
