A Day to Remember: Documenting a Soroban Adventure

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking is finding creative ways to tell the stories behind everyday experiences. Recently, I created this cute double-page 12" x 12" layout that will be perfect for showcasing photos from my son's Okinawa soroban workshop.

I was immediately drawn to the clean design and the fun gear embellishments. The gears remind me of all the thinking, learning, and problem-solving that take place when children are developing new skills. Since soroban is all about mental math, concentration, and strategy, these elements fit the theme perfectly!

The layout features multiple photo mats, giving me plenty of room to include photos of my son participating in the workshop, practicing on the soroban, and interacting with other students. I also love the science-inspired patterned paper and the banner element that stretches across both pages, helping tie the entire design together.

The title, "A Day to Remember," couldn't be more fitting. Living in Okinawa provides so many unique opportunities for our children to experience Japanese culture, and this workshop was one of those special moments worth preserving. Scrapbooking allows me to capture not only the photos but also the story behind the experience and the memories we made along the way.

Sometimes the best layouts are the ones that let the photos and the story take center stage. This simple yet engaging design does exactly that, creating the perfect backdrop for documenting an educational adventure that my son will hopefully remember for years to come.

Good Times in Bloom: A Simple & Sweet 6" x 8" Layout

Sometimes the simplest layouts become our favorites, and this 6" x 8" double-page spread is a perfect example!

When creating this layout, I wanted a design that was clean, elegant, and easy to recreate while still showcasing beautiful details. I started with a soft purple color palette and layered papers to create subtle dimension across both pages. The deep berry background provides the perfect contrast, helping the lighter elements stand out.

The focal point of this layout is the gorgeous floral die cuts that stretch across the pages, creating movement and drawing the eye from one photo to the next. I love how the flowers frame the photos without overwhelming them. A simple banner featuring the title "Good Times!" adds the perfect finishing touch and reminds us that scrapbooking is all about preserving life's special moments.

To add a little extra interest, I scattered metallic embellishments throughout the layout. These small accents bring just the right amount of shine while keeping the overall design clean and uncluttered.

One of my favorite things about working in the 6" x 8" format is that it encourages simplicity. With just a few patterned papers, a handful of embellishments, and space for treasured photos, it's easy to create a layout that is both beautiful and meaningful.

Little One: A Sweet & Simple Double-Page Layout

There's something special about creating a scrapbook layout that comes together quickly while still making a big impact. This "Little One" double-page 12" x 12" layout is one of those designs!

I wanted to create a layout that felt sweet, playful, and full of love without adding lots of complicated layers or techniques. The combination of red, pink, and white patterned papers provides the perfect backdrop while keeping the focus on the photos. I especially love how the mix of florals, hearts, and XOXO patterns adds interest and texture across both pages.

One of my favorite things about this layout is how versatile it is. It would work beautifully for baby photos, toddler memories, Valentine's Day celebrations, or any collection of photos that capture the joy and love of childhood.

Sometimes the simplest layouts are the ones that tell our stories best. With a few coordinating papers, a handful of embellishments, and treasured photos, you can create a layout that preserves precious memories for years to come.

Let's Celebrate: A Simple & Sweet Double-Page Layout

Beautiful Scrapbooking Doesn't Have to Be Complicated.

Sometimes the most beautiful scrapbook layouts are also the simplest! Today I'm sharing this adorable double-page 12" x 12" birthday layout featuring a soft color palette of teal, pink, and white.

What I love most about this design is how easy it was to put together while still leaving plenty of room for photos and memories. The layered patterned papers create visual interest without overwhelming the page, while the large photo mats allow the pictures to remain the star of the layout.

The "Let's Celebrate" title serves as the perfect focal point and is complemented by sweet birthday-themed accents, including a gift image, a "Make a Wish" embellishment, and a journaling card for recording special memories from the celebration. A few scattered embellishments add just the right amount of sparkle and fun without making the layout feel cluttered.

This two-page design holds multiple photos, making it perfect for documenting birthday parties, family celebrations, or any special occasion worth remembering. I especially love how the simple arrangement makes it easy to customize with different colors, themes, or embellishments.

Layouts like this remind me that creating meaningful scrapbook pages doesn't require complicated techniques. Sometimes a few coordinating papers, a great title, and cherished photos are all you need to tell a beautiful story.

Tidy Space, Happy Crafting: Organizing Tips You’ll Love

Organizing Your Craft Supplies for Maximum Creativity ✂️✨

A well-organized craft space isn’t just about neatness, it’s about unlocking your creativity. When your supplies are easy to find and beautifully arranged, you spend less time searching and more time creating. Whether you’re a scrapbooker, card maker, or both, a few simple organization strategies can make a big difference.

Start with a Simple Sort

Begin by grouping similar items together, stamps, inks, paper, embellishments, tools. This gives you a clear picture of what you have and helps you spot duplicates or forgotten favorites. Many crafters find it helpful to organize Stampin’ Up! products by category or by suite, since their coordinated designs naturally work together.

Store Ink Pads for Easy Access

Ink pads are essentials you’ll reach for often, so keep them visible and accessible. Stackable storage or tiered shelves work especially well for Stampin’ Up! ink pads, allowing you to quickly see each color at a glance. You might even arrange them by color family for a visually pleasing “rainbow” setup that doubles as inspiration.

Keep Your Paper Neat and Ready

Cardstock and designer series paper can quickly become overwhelming if left unchecked. Store paper vertically in labeled folders or bins by color or collection. Stampin’ Up! color collections make this especially easy, keeping shades grouped together helps you quickly pull coordinating pieces for your projects.

Use Clear Containers and Labels

Transparent bins and labeled drawers make it easy to find exactly what you need without digging. Consider small containers for embellishments like gems, ribbons, and die cuts so they stay visible and organized.

Create a “Ready-to-Go” Area

Set aside a small space for your current project or favorite supplies. This could include a go-to stamp set, a coordinating suite, or tools you use every time you craft. Keeping these items within reach helps you jump into creating without hesitation.

Keep It Flexible

Your crafting style may evolve, and your organization should too. Don’t be afraid to adjust your setup as you discover what works best for you. The goal is to create a system that supports your creativity, not slows it down.

With a little planning and a few thoughtful storage solutions, your craft space can become a place that feels inspiring and stress-free. When everything has a home, especially your favorite Stampin’ Up! inks and papers, you’ll be ready to create whenever inspiration strikes. 💕

Pooh's Hunny Hunt Ride at Disneyland Tokyo 12 x 12 Scrapbooking Layout

A Whimsical Day with Pooh: My Latest Scrapbooking Layout 🐻🍯

There’s something truly magical about capturing a day at Tokyo Disneyland, especially when it includes a spin through the charming world of Winnie the Pooh. I’m so excited to share my newest scrapbooking layout, inspired by the delightful Pooh’s Hunny Hunt ride and brought to life with some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! supplies.

The photos in this layout come straight from one of the most enchanting attractions in Tokyo Disneyland. From the playful honey pots to the pastel-colored dreamscape of the Hundred Acre Wood, every picture felt like it deserved a soft, storybook-style home. I wanted this page to reflect that gentle whimsy, that feeling you get drifting along with Pooh and friends in search of honey.

To complement the dreamy scenes, I turned to the Silly Old Bear collection by Stampin’ Up!, which was the perfect choice for this theme. The patterns evoke classic Pooh nostalgia with subtle textures and playful motifs.

I paired the patterned papers with a carefully coordinated cardstock palette:

  • Peaceful Pine – grounding the layout with a deep, earthy contrast
  • Barely Blush – adding softness and a warm, delicate undertone
  • Hydrangea Hue – bringing in a whimsical pop of pastel blue

Together, these colors mimic the ride’s blend of cozy woodland charm and imaginative fantasy.

What I love most about this layout is how it captures not just the visuals, but the feeling of the ride, the gentle motion, the dreamy colors, and that unmistakable Disney magic. Scrapbooking isn’t just about preserving photos; it’s about reliving the moment every time you turn the page.

This layout quickly became one of my favorites. The Silly Old Bear collection paired beautifully with the soft cardstock tones, making it easy to bring a cohesive, storybook look to life. If you’re working with whimsical or theme park photos, don’t be afraid to lean into soft colors and playful patterns, they can truly transform your page into something magical.

Have you ever scrapbooked a theme park memory? I’d love to hear how you brought your photos to life!

Cape Cod Area in DisneySea 12 x 12 Scrapbooking Layout

I have been working on my two Disney Tokyo resort trips at the same time. One trip is from the summer of 2024 and the second is from the summer of 2025. The first year we spent two days at Disneyland and one day at DisneySea, in which is rained almost the entire day at DisneySea, so not many pictures from that third day. Then last summer in 2025, we spent two days at DisneySea and one day at Disneyland. I tried my hardest to make up for the lack of pictures from the year before.

As soon as I saw the Waterside Retreat Collection, I knew I had to have it for not only a few beach photos we have but also for the great papers that would go with these Cape Cod area photos from DisneySea. I think the layout turned out great!
